PKF Francis Clark – Taunton

The Brief

Our client was ready to move from their enclosed, ground‑floor offices to a brighter first‑floor space that offered far more potential. Their existing layout was made up of smaller, closed‑off rooms, which limited communication and team interaction. With the move, they wanted to create a more open, uplifting environment that would naturally support team culture. A key part of the brief was to introduce welcoming breakout and lunch areas, giving staff a place to relax, connect and enjoy time away from their desks.

The Visualisation

Our design team had great fun bringing this concept to life. A striking moss wall was introduced in the breakout area, creating an immediate statement as you enter the space. Alongside this, feature wooden slat panels were added in key areas of the office to bring warmth, texture and a natural feel to the overall design.

Throughout the building, we used feature lighting to help define different working zones and create a smooth sense of flow from one area to the next. To support the new open and collaborative way of working, our designers also carefully specified furniture that complemented the look and tied the scheme together. A detailed look book was provided to the client, giving them a clear vision of how the colours, textures and finishes would come to life within the final space.

The Realisation

The finished office is a bright, welcoming space and a complete transformation from the enclosed ground‑floor environment the team had been working in. Alongside delivering the new design, we supported the client with the move itself, making sure their existing equipment was relocated smoothly. We worked closely with their IT team throughout to ensure everything came together seamlessly. As always, Building Regulations played an essential role in both the design and installation, and the project was signed off appropriately. It’s been a pleasure partnering with this client, and we’ve since had the privilege of working with them again on another office project.
