The Brief
Our client had recently taken over the lease of a large warehouse in Bridgwater, which had remained unused for around a year. The building contained an existing mezzanine office; however, this space was not large enough to support the client’s operational requirements.
A second, disused mezzanine was identified in another area of the warehouse. Working closely with the client, along with a structural engineer and Building Control, we explored how both mezzanines could be repurposed and combined to create a suitably sized office environment.
The client also wanted to move away from the enclosed nature of their previous office and create a more open, light and collaborative space for their team.
The Visualisation
The design team were tasked with completely reconfiguring the existing layout to maximise the available space. This included the creation of new tea point facilities, toilets and a shower room. Careful consideration was given throughout the design process to ensure the scheme met all building regulation requirements, including fire stopping measures, means of escape and ventilation. We worked closely with the client during the visualisation stage, as they were keen to incorporate a selection of their own products into the internal finishes, ensuring the space reflected both their operational needs and brand identity.
The Realisation
The completed office space was delivered to a very high standard and met all building regulation and compliance requirements. The new layout has transformed the working environment, providing a light, modern and open-plan office that encourages collaboration and supports the client’s ongoing growth.
By integrating the client’s own products throughout the space, the offices can also function as a showroom, allowing visitors to experience the product range within a real working environment.
