The Somerset Energy Innovation Centre is an impressive, high profile, multi occupancy building destined to house many of the company’s working on the new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station in Somerset.
The hub of the building is its restaurant meeting area.
Environments for Business were asked to design and visualise the seating area and address the acoustic issues within the space.
Mego Employment Centre
Edge Recruitment tasked us to help them design their new concept in their employment centre. This was to be a recruitment agency, but most importantly it needed to be an environment where job hunters could go and feel relaxed while improving their career prospects. For this reason, the environment needed to appeal to the full demographic; not just a few focused groups.
Modernise, modernise, modernise! Littledown Surgery was built for purpose in the 1980’s and it was clear from the outset that it needed some refreshing. Despite the best efforts of the friendly staff the area simply wasn’t inviting or a comfortable place to use. Added to this, the timber porch, which incorporated a children’s play area, was cold, draughty and in need of repairs. In short, make it look like new!
Unusually for one of our projects, the brief and design work had already been carried out by a freelance designer working in tandem with the contract administrator and the client. This meant that we were presented with a designed project and had to work out how best to fulfill it. Creative elements of the brief included a bespoke media bench and digitally printed artwork.
