The Brief
Babcock International Group plc is a British aerospace, defence and nuclear engineering services company. It specialises in managing complex assets and infrastructure. As part of their continued growth, Babcock chose to move into a brand new office building and industrial space in the prestigious Oceansgate waterfront marine development in Plymouth. EFB were one of the companies selected to competitively tender for the interior fit-out works which we won and were subsequently appointed to the project. The project was designed and specified by Babcocks chosen Surveying and M&E Consultants so everything was ready for us to hit the ground quickly.
The Visualisation
Due to an eleventh-hour reduction in the budget for this project, EFB worked with the surveyors and consultants to rationalise and reduce the specification of the works to suit the new budget without compromising on quality, space or timing. Our Estimating and Project Management teams produced a proposal which suited the requirements in such a way that the buildings were future-proofed for any of the omitted works to be carried out at a later date without extensive disruption.
The Realisation
Working closely with Babcocks Special Projects and Accomodation divisions to deliver the project, EFB Carried out an overhaul of the mechanical & lighting systems, installed a state of the art data network, three teapoints and acoustic double glazed partitions to provide modern, bright and efficient office accomodation.
