The Brief

Expanding into an adjoining building, Cooper Associates required a team who understood the local area and their business priorities. Taking inspiration from their existing premises, we ensured that the new space complemented the original and that the two areas flowed seamlessly. The focus was on creating an exceptional client experience and enhancing staff facilities. This included a staff gym area, a large conferencing suite that could be transformed into an events space, and extending their existing offices.

The Visualisation

There were several structural considerations when knocking through to create a clear walkway into the new space. As this expansion nearly doubled their footprint, we had to carefully assess the safety implications and determine the most appropriate locations for the openings. Having moved the previous tenant into their new offices on the other side of the town we were in a good position where we were familiar with the building and understood its build and age. Designing the front of house spaces and staff enrichment areas were where we really got to unleash our ideas, creating some tech savvy solutions for their AV and ensuring the gym could function to a commercial standard.

The Realisation

The space walks the line of corporate and homely, suited to the various functions the space was to be used for. The AV equipment and hidden M&E systems work well to ensure an easy and comfortable environment is maintained whilst keeping the same professional and stylish look from the organisation’s existing adjoining space. Since completing the works our small works team have been asked back to complete further improvements and alterations to the building, it is always a pleasure to step foot back into the offices.
