The Brief

We were approached by KBG Chambers as they were vacating their long standing premises on Mutley to move to the newly developed Royal William Yard in Plymouth. This was a big move for them and quite a change in working area. We were pleased to work alongside them to find their new home in this lovely setting.

The Visualisation

Working alongside the KBG team we came to understand the requirements they has for the space, having worked within RWY previously we understood the sensitivities of designing in such a historic building, being a Grade 1 listed building it was important to be mindful and sympathetic to the fabric of the building for the duration. Working with the helping hands of Gillespie Yunnie Architects we ensured that the building fabric was still visible from the glazed atrium and the vusal lines of the building were retained in our design.

The Realisation

The space gives KBG a new place to call home, a open plan and well thought through area that hints to tradition through the colour pallet whilst being modern and functioning to a high standard. All while also celebrating the building it is within. The result is a contemporary corporate space that serves the chambers well.
