The Brief
We worked alongside SDC to further understand their requirements following an award of a tender to refurbish their colley lane and Bridgwater House sites.
Planning to work in an occupied site logistic and movement of staff were key, along with precise timing and clear communication. We worked with SDC to carry out the Colley lane works initially, the space was bought up to date and freshened up with happy staff and clients. As we worked towards our start date for Bridgwater House things changed as the Covid 19 pandemic began to take hold.
The Visualisation
Due to the change in circumstances we had a largely unoccupied site to work with, this enabled the client to widen the scope of works for the building and seize the opportunity to overhaul the working style ready for a post covid world. Working alongside SDC we altered our working format to suit these changes and expanded the scope to suit their needs.
The Realisation
The space is unrecognizable from where it was before, open plan and flexible working with updated teapoints and a refresh to the toilets throughout it is a space designed to take the council offices safely well into the future. With zoned working throughout and feature wall papers and enhance accessibility it is a space that works for all who work there.
