The Brief
Following the successful refurbishment of two office spaces for uCheck previously, they approached us when they had the opportunity to expand into the ground floor area of their building. They wanted to create a space that would provide sperate areas for the workforce as we emerged from the Covid 19 lockdowns. The space needed to function as a meeting suite going forward, while also offering a quiet alternative workspace for staff away from their busy open plan office.
The Visualisation
We set to work creating some different ideas and visuals for the client, working with them there were a few incarnations of the plan before we were set on one to go forward with. We wanted to build continuity with the already refurbished first floor space whilst also giving it a new and different feel, it was important to the client that this space felt more private and calm than the upstairs space and had a flexible function.
The Realisation
The finished design offers a comprehensive meeting suite with a welcoming reception area and social space. A small tea point serves the suite, supported by a larger tea point on the first floor for the staff use. Inspired by the surrounding coastal setting, the water and beaches theme reflects the local area. Combined with a strong connectivity throughout, the space can flexibly function as hot desking areas or meeting rooms.
